CRL has special relationships with and responsibility to North Stradbroke Island - we care for our employees, the island community and its environment.

We have more than 250 employees, at least 50 percent of whom are Island residents. In addition, CRL indirectly supports more than 105 island families through the provision of employment opportunities.

For more than 40 years, CRL has helped local government authorities deliver extensive physical and social infrastructure and education services on the island including:

• schools
• medical services
• roads
• electricity
• water supplies
• communication links
• recreation amenities
• educational tourist attractions

A 2003 Regional Economic Impacts study of CRL’s North Stradbroke Island operations, prepared by Gillespie Economics, showed CRL contributes $55million every year to the economy of the region.
